Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day Weekend

Your Labor Day Weekend Guide

Y'all, it's officially here: Labor Day weekend! Can you believe it? The unofficial last hurrah of summer and around Greenwood that means one thing: we go all in.

Lake days, firing up the grill and someone asking "who's bringing the buffalo chicken dip?" That's right, college football is so BACK. So if you needed a sign to start planning your weekend, this is it.

Whether you're floating on Lake Greenwood, tailgating from the couch or just trying to figure out where to be and when, we've got you covered! Here's everything happening around town this weekend, plus a few thoughts on why weekends like this one are exactly why we love calling this place home.

THE LINEUP

Lights on the Lake — Saturday, Sept 5, 4:30–10:30 PM Camp Fellowship & Conference Center on Lake Greenwood This one's always a spectacular show we look forward to each year. Live music, a family festival before sunset and fireworks over the water to close it out. Grab a blanket, grab your people and get there early for a good spot.

Wheels of Time Car Show — Saturday, Sept 5, 10 AM Wheeling in on Abbeville's beautiful historic square. Enjoy classic cars, hot rods and a whole lot of Southern charm fill. Bonus: it's for a good cause as all proceeds go to the Angel Tree program, the local food bank, and a Piedmont Technical College automotive scholarship fund. Come for the cars and stay for the ice cream at The Rough House or check out NEW Grado's on The Square for pizza, pastas, beer and wine!

Anderson Hot Air Affair — Friday–Sunday, Sept 4–6 Anderson Civic Center Balloon Launch Field If you've got a little more time to roam, this one's worth the drive. It's a full weekend of hot air balloon flights, glows, live music and a fireworks finale; all benefiting the Cancer Association of Anderson. About 35–40 minutes from Greenwood and absolutely worth it.

College Football is BACK — Saturday, Sept 5 While the Tigers head to LSU, the Gamecocks host their first home game of the season against Kent State at Williams-Brice Stadium. Kickoff is 12:45 PM. Which brings us to the most important question of the weekend...

Who's bringing the buffalo chicken dip?

Let's be honest — nothing says "football season is back" quite like a table full of all of your favorite apps and buffalo chicken dip is definitely our all time fav! CLICK HERE for recipe.

Why We Love Weekends Like This

Here's the thing about a weekend packed with fireworks over the lake, a car show on the square and a stadium full of Gamecock fans an hour down the road:

it's a pretty good reminder of why people fall in love with this area in the first place. It's not just the homes, it's the life that happens around them.

The porch made for tailgating. The backyard made for grilling.

The short drive to the lake, to the square or to a stadium roaring on a Saturday afternoon.

If you've been picturing a weekend like this happening in a home that's actually yours, we'd love to help make that real!

Whether you're buying, selling, or just starting to dream about what's next, the Hite & Corley Team is here for it — grill, buffalo chicken dip, and all.

Happy Labor Day weekend from all of us (& GO TIGERS + GO GAMECOCKS)

— The Hite & Corley Team
